OBIT POWELL, ESTELLE FERGUSON

POWELL, Estelle Ferguson, 87, of Virginia Synod Lutheran Home, Roanoke, died Monday, March 8, 1993. She was a native of Penhook, Va., the daughter of the late Jesse B. and Laura T. Ferguson. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Ransom Powell; a sister, Mrs. Pearl F. Tosh and a niece, Lorraine Anthony Fuller. Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Ann Ferguson Anthony, Hampton, Va.; a devoted niece, Mrs. J. Wilson (Jane) Ingram, Roanoke; a great-nephew, James W. Ingram and his wife, Sara of Roanoke; several devoted cousins, including Percy L. David, Salem. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Liberty Christian Church Cemetery, Pittsylvania County, conducted by the Rev. Edward C. McClain. The family suggest memorials be made to Penhook United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 95, Penhook, Va. 24137. Arrangements by Oakey's Roanoke Chapel.
