The Richmond Renegades took a 7-0 lead over Roanoke Valley on Wednesday night en route to a 12-2 pounding of the Rampage in East Coast Hockey League action.Steve Mirabile had a hat trick for the Renegades, who also got two goals apiece from Darren Colbourne, Jeff Saterdalen and Guy Phillips.
Brendan Flynn had six assists - one shy of the team record - as Richmond pelted the Roanoke Valley goal with 50 shots.
"If I played Roanoke every game, I'd have 100 points," said Mirabile.
The Rampage, headed for the worst record in ECHL history, is 2-28-1 on the road and has been outscored 223-100 in those games.
\ ICE CHIPS: The Rampage heads into the last week of 64-game regular season with a 14-46-1 record. RV returns home today to face Birmingham at the LancerLot. The home finale is Saturday against Richmond. The club ends the season at Hampton Roads on Sunday. . . . Richmond (33-26-2) has won five straight and five of six against RV this season. ... Richmond coach Roy Sommer took a stick in the head and suffered a cut that required seven stitches to close.
