OBIT HOWELL, ELLIS J.
HOWELL, Ellis J., 83, of Roanoke, died Tuesday, March 9, 1993. He was a former officer of Taylor Insulating Company and retired from Q. M. Tomlinson Construction Company. He was a graduate of Roanoke College and a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Mildred Pace Howell; sons and daughter-in-law, George E. and Billie Dawn Howell, Robert N. Howell, all of Roanoke; three grandsons, William Scott Howell, George Jason Howell, Christopher Ross Howell; two sisters, Bernice Peery of Farmville, Margaret Duncan of Birmingham, Ala. In lieu of flowers family suggests that memorials be made to Calvary Baptist Church. Funeral services will be conducted 3 p.m. Friday at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel with Dr. M. Dennis Herman and Dr. Harry Y. Gamble officiating. Interment will follow in Fair View Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Oakey's Roanoke.
