OBIT TURNER, RUSSELL ALFORD
TURNER, Russell Alford, 81, of Roanoke County, died Wednesday, March 10,
1993 at Lewis Gale Hospital. He was a member of the Brookhill Baptist Church,
Mount Pleasant Lions Club, Roanoke, Chapter 111 of Mended Hearts, and the
National Association of Retired Federal Employees. He was retired from the
Washington, D.C. Metro Transit System and the Department of the Army Special
Police Force. Surviving are his wife, Ada Hawkins Turner; a sister, Thelma
Chiavario of San Gabriel, Calif.; and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral
services will be conducted from Oakey's Vinton Chapel at 1 p.m. Friday, March
12 with Pastor Wilmar Wegner, President Albert F. Turner and Bishop Zane S.
Mason officiating. Burial will be in the Turner-Richardson Family Cemetery.
