OBIT PHILLIPS, LEROY
PHILLIPS, Leroy, 65, of Willis, died Tuesday, March 9, 1993 in Radford
Community Hospital. He was a World War II veteran and a retired crane operator
and carpenter. He is survived by his wife, Myrtle Cox Phillips, Willis; two
sons and daughter-in-law, Danny and Elaine Phillips, Willis, Richard and
Dorraine Phillips, Indian Valley; three daughters and sons-in-law, Lana and
Hosea Blankenship, Riner, Debbie and Terry Woolwine, Willis, Jackie and Tommy
Cox, Floyd; three sisters, Mrs. Woodrow (Elizabeth) Sutphin, Willis, Ricie
Quesenberry, Indian Valley, Nellie Phillips, Christiansburg; 14 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday at the Maberry Funeral Home Chapel
with Elder Sidney Rakes and Rev. Truman Simpkins officiating. Burial will
follow in the Sumpter Cemetery with Military Honors by The Grover King V.F.W.
Post # 1115, Hillsville. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m.
Thursday at the Maberry Funeral Home, Floyd.
