SWEET-TOOTH CROWD CAN CONTRIBUTE, TOO
INSTEAD OF spending his time answering questions from children, why doesn't
President Clinton devote his energies to sweet-talking Congress into passing a
federal tax of 10 percent on candy, soft drinks and ice-cream products, which
are hardly necessities of life? This would obtain maximum participation in his
drive to encourage contributions (as opposed to making sacrifices) from those
eschewing tobacco products and alcoholic beverages so that everyone can be a
cash-backer of his egomaniacal proposals to reduce the federal deficit. CALE
