AUTHORITIES TO SEARCH FOR VICTIM'S HEAD

Authorities said Thursday they plan to dig in a Navy housing neighborhood next week for the head of a woman whose torso washed ashore on North Carolina's Outer Banks in 1991.

The search for the remains of Brenda G. Dozier will start Monday in the Carper development of Virginia Beach, according to a prosecutor in Dare County, N.C.

District Attorney H.P. Williams said a construction company began preparing the site, a pumping station that was under construction about the time Dozier was killed, on Thursday.

Williams is prosecuting the case against Michael G. Dial, 36, who faces a murder charge in Dozier's death. The trial is to begin April 12 in Manteo, N.C.
