TV SERIES CREATOR PARKE LEVY DIES
Parke Levy, who created the mother-in-law TV series "December Bride" and wrote and directed for the hit radio show "My Friend Irma," has died at age 84.A TV version ran for two years and the 1949 film version introduced to movie audiences Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis.
Levy created the character Lily Ruskin from "December Bride" in the image of his own mother-in-law, making her a woman who inspired love rather than conflict in her married daughter's home.
