JUDGE DENIES DELAY IN HEADLESS-BODY CASE
Judge Thomas S. Watts on Friday denied a request to delay the murder trial of Michael G. Dial, who is accused of killing a woman whose headless torso washed ashore on the Outer Banks in 1991.Michael G. Dial of Norfolk, Va., is scheduled for trial April 12 in Manteo in the death of Brenda G. Dozier.
No other issues were discussed during the hearing.
The hearing came just days before a search is to begin by Virginia Beach, Va., authorities of a Navy housing neighborhood for the victim's head.
