40 COLLEGE STUDENTS HELP IVANHOE SPRUCE UP
More than 40 college and university students spent their spring breaks in Wythe County last week to help Ivanhoe residents clean, paint and otherwise dress up their community. The students came not only from Virginia Tech but also from Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wis.; Boston College in Chestnut Hill, Mass., and the College of William and Mary.
Students from the first three schools have made regular spring visits to Ivanhoe in recent years. It was the first time for students from William and Mary.
The six William and Mary students came to Ivanhoe through a college-funded program proposed by Judy Lorimer, a sophomore at the school and a former Ivanhoe resident who worked on youth programs.
