CONGRATULATIONS, THANKS IN ORDER
As a participant in the state A and AA wrestling tournament held Feb. 19 and 20 in the Roanoke-Salem Civic Center, I would like to congratulate Dr. Larry Hall for the tremendous job he performed as tournament director.
This tournament was a true "spectacle" as witnessed by the thousands of people throughout the state of Virginia who came to support the individual wrestlers from their localities. Dr. Hall and his supporting team of officials, table workers, mat crew, announcers, clerical workers and medical staff did the Roanoke Valley a tremendous service by hosting the tournament.
The economic impact on local businesses, restaurants and motels was surely welcomed by the surrounding communities. Throughout the entire weekend I heard many other coaches, wrestlers, officials and parents commenting about how well the tournament was run and that they would like to see the tournament return to the Roanoke area next year. The quality of wrestling for Metro teams was also remarkable this year, and what better way to showcase local talent than hosting the state tournament here in the Roanoke area.
Again, a tremendous "thanks" to Dr. Larry Hall and all persons responsible for making the state A and AA wrestling tournaments such a memorable experience and pleasure to be a part of. MARK S. AGNER LORD BOTETOURT WRESTLING COACH
