BILOXI GETS '94 METRO TOURNEY
The 1994 Metro Conference men's and women's basketball tournaments will be played at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum in Biloxi, Miss., conference officials said Saturday.
Ralph McFillen, commissioner of the Metro Conference, made the announcement as play continued Saturday in the 1993 men's tournament at Freedom Hall on the University of Louisville campus. The women's tournament concluded Friday night with Louisville beating top-seeded Southern Mississippi for the championship.
Southern Mississippi will serve as the host of the 1994 tournament, as the Golden Eagles did in 1990 when the men's tournament was played at the 11,000-seat Biloxi arena.
The 1994 men's tournament will be played March 11-13. The women's tournament will be held March 8-11.
The tournaments will return in 1995 to Louisville, the site of eight Metro Conference men's tournaments.
