CATS ARE A PUBLIC NUISANCE
IN RESPONSE to Joyce Ratcliffe's Feb. 23 letter, "Cats are doing a public service":What a joke! Since when has killing pretty birds, cute rabbits and squirrels, etc., become a public service? Cats should be leashed when they're outside. They are a public nuisance with their digging in flower gardens, lounging on cars and lurking beneath bird feeders. Or perhaps there's a public service being done when they dash across the street to become road kill for squirrels, rabbits, birds, etc. JUDY S. PRETTYMAN ROANOKE
