OBIT-ARTHUR, EVELYN GRAY

ARTHUR, Evelyn Gray, 89, of Berkshire Health Care Center, Roanoke, (and formerly of Creston Avenue, S. W.), died Friday, March 12, 1993. She was the widow of Maynard F. Arthur and a member of Raleigh Court United Methodist Church. Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Jeannette A. "Jan" and Jack A. Harman, Thaxton; Cecelia A. and Bennett Gordon, Wadesboro, N. C.; two grandchildren, Jo Harman Kenny, Thaxton, Dorothy Gordon Burrows, Cary, N. C.; two great-grandchildren, Jeannette Kenny, Gordon McGirt; and a sister, Mrs. Geraldine Cronk, Roanoke. Funeral services will be conducted from the graveside, Sherwood Burial Park, at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday with Dr. Gregory L. Adkins officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorial contributions be made to a favorite charity or the Raleigh Court United Methodist Church Memorial Fund (1706 Grandin Road, S. W., Roanoke, Va. 24015). Friends may call after 9 a.m. Tuesday at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel, where the family will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday.
