OBIT-BALDWIN, HERMAN THOMAS

BALDWIN, Herman Thomas, 78, of 326 Preston Ave., N. E., Roanoke, died Saturday, March 13, 1993. He was a member of Preston Oaks Baptist Church, was a retired employee of Virginia State ABC Board, was a member of Melrose Lodge No. 139 A.F. & A.M. He is survived by his wife, Lillian M. Baldwin; one son and daughter-in-law, Warren T. (Tommy) and wife, Helen, Salem; daughter, Carolyn B. Rakes and husband, Steven B. Rakes, Roanoke; six grandchildren, Michael W., Kristi R., and Kimberlee R. Rakes, Robin R. Barrett, Pamela S. Reyes, Tracey L. Smith; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Della R. Brady, Florida; five brothers, Lewis, Wilson, Nelson, and Morris Baldwin, all of Roanoke, and Randolph Baldwin, Tennessee. Funeral services will be conducted from Oakey's North Chapel 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 17, 1993 with the Rev. James Millsaps officiating. Burial will be in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Masonic Rites by Melrose Lodge No. 139 A.F.& A.M. Friends may call Oakey's North Chapel after 3 p.m. Monday.
