ATLANTA TRACK DAMAGE COULD REACH $400,000

Atlanta Motor Speedway sustained estimated damages of $350,000 to $400,000 from Saturday's snowstorm.

Ed Clark, general manager of the speedway, said Monday the facility would be ready for the Motorcraft 500 NASCAR race, which was snowed out Sunday and rescheduled for Saturday at 1 p.m.

"We see nothing that will prevent opening on Friday and Saturday, although it's going to take a good bit of outside assistance," Clark said. "We will be completely operational this weekend."

The track is expected to be operating fully in time for drivers to practice Friday.
