OBIT KIDD, OTIS HARMON
KIDD, Otis Harmon, 74, of Rt. 2, Bluefield, Va., died Sunday March 14, 1993
in a Bluefield hospital. He was born in Bland County, Va., son of the late,
Houston H. and Ollie Yost Kidd. He was a former employee of the Virginia
Hardwood Lumber Company, Corte Construction Company and retired in 1981 as a
foreman for Consolidated Coal Company. He was a member of the United Mine
Workers, served in the US Army in World War II and is a member of the Highland
Avenue Church of God, Bluefield, Va. Preceded in death by two sisters and four
brothers. Survivors are his wife, Dorothy Stacy Kidd; son, Garland J. Kidd of
Fincastle, Va.; daughter, Geroline (Gerrie) Porter of Bluefield, Va.; four
brothers, Thurman Kidd of Bastian, Va., Houston Kidd of Orlando, Fla., Heman
Kidd of Baltimore, Md., Ralph Kidd of Nashville, Tenn.; sister, Linnie Looney
of Bastian, Va.; four grandchildren, Mark Tracy Porter of Pewaukee, Wis., C.
Brian Kidd of Roanoke, Tonya Porter Davis of Beckley, W.Va., Craig Kidd of
Blacksburg; two great-grandsons, Christopher Kidd and Nicholas Kidd, both of
Roanoke. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Highland
Avenue Church of God in Bluefield, Va. with Dr. K. B. Arnold and the Rev.
Allen Roberson officiating. Burial will follow in the Grandview Memory Gardens
in Bluefield, Va. Friends may call at the Dudley Memorial Mortuary Tuesday
from 5 to 8 p.m.
