NCAA TELEVISED GAMES INCLUDE UVA

Virginia's opening-round game Friday in the NCAA men's basketball tournament will be among the regional telecast offerings on Roanoke's WDBJ (Channel 7).

The Virginia-Manhattan game will tip off about 2:50 p.m. Friday at the Carrier Dome in Syracuse, N.Y.

The exclusive CBS coverage of the tournament will provide four first-round games Thursday and Friday plus cut-ins to other games during noon-5 p.m. and 8 p.m.-midnight shows.

The weekend CBS coverage of the second round, with game selections still tentative, will include four games Saturday from noon to 9 p.m. and three on Sunday from noon to 7 p.m.

The Channel 7 schedule also is subject to change because of NCAA blackout rules, which will become effective for the Roanoke-Lynchburg telecast market if the first- and second-round games at Joel Coliseum in Winston-Salem, N.C., are not sold out.
