POULTRY FARM EX-PRESIDENT OLIVER DIES
Frank Lovitt Oliver, former president of the old Densmore Chick & Egg Farm in Northwest Roanoke and Roanoke County, died Saturday. He was 76.Oliver formerly was vice chairman of the Virginia Poultry Products Commission, president of Virginia Egg Council and a director of the Virginia Poultry Federation and Roanoke Chamber of Commerce. He also managed the Fair Acre Farm and Garden Store.
Oliver was a Virginia Tech graduate and he served in the U.S. Army in World War II, retiring as a lieutenant colonel.
Survivors include his wife, Frances Long Oliver; a daughter, Gail Palmer, Sumter, S.C., and a brother, Marcus L. Oliver, Blacksburg.
A graveside service will be at 10:15 a.m. today at Evergreen Burial Park. A memorial service will be at at 11 a.m. today at Second Presbyterian Church.
