OIL DEALER MARVIN ANDREWS DIES

Marvin E. Andrews, who founded the Andrews Oil Co. which later grew into APB-Whiting Oil Co., died Tuesday. He was 89.

Born in Bedford County, Andrews began his business career in 1926 with the Andrews Battery Co.

He expanded it and also sold insurance and automobiles before he merged his oil company with the late Blair Pitzer and Jack Butler in 1955.

The funeral will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at the Windsor Hills United Methodist Church. Oakey's Roanoke Chapel is handling the arrangements.
