OBIT PRICE, ELSIE CLIFTON

PRICE, Elsie Clifton, 84, of Roanoke, died Monday, March 15, 1993. She was the widow of Robert L. Price Sr. Mrs. Price was a member of First Baptist Church, a volunteer in the American Red Cross, a member of the Thursday Morning Music Club and a member of the Roanoke Womens Club. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Jean Price and Harley Thorne; two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert Lee Jr. and Barbara Price, Arthur Clifton and Joan V. Price; one brother, Emory E. Clifton, all of Roanoke County; two sisters, Geneva Redman of Petersburg and Violet Newman of Meadows of Dan; six grandchildren, Charlene Janosko, Roanoke County, Jay Thorne of Vinton, Deborah Lynn Smith of Chesapeake, Robert Lee Price III, Arthur Clifton Price Jr. and Jason Edward Price, all of Roanoke County; four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at Oakey's South Chapel, 11 a.m. Thursday, with the Rev. John D. Cochran and the Rev. Robert M. Hamner officiating. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family suggest in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Robert L. Price Scholarship Fund, c/o First Baptist Church, 515 Third St., Roanoke, Va. 24010. Friends may call at Oakey's South Chapel after noon Wednesday.
