OBIT HOSTETTER, MARSHALL O.

HOSTETTER, Marshall O. ("Toby"), 80, of Buena Vista, died Tuesday in Stonewall Jackson Hospital. He was born in Rehobeth, Md. on February 21, 1913, the son of the late Charles E. Hostetter and Annie Marshall Hostetter. He was retired from Lees Carpets and was a lifetime member of St. John's United Methodist Church, where he taught Sunday school for over 50 years. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Carolyn H. Staton. Survivors include his wife, Ruby Slough Hostetter, Buena Vista; one son, Robert "Ed" Hostetter, Staunton; one sister, Margaret Fitzgerald, Staunton; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 18 from Lomax Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Bob Hawkins officiating. Burial will follow in Rockbridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Lomax Funeral Home.
