LACROSSE UVA MEN LOSE 1ST GAME OF SEASON

Fifth-ranked Virginia suffered its first loss of the season in men's lacrosse, falling to defending NCAA champion Princeton 9-6 in a game moved to Baltimore because of snow-covered grounds in Princeton, N.J. Taylor Simmers had three goals and two assists to lead the Tigers, while Virginia (3-1) was led by Ray Kamrath with three goals. UVa attackman Kevin Pehlke, who had 10 goals after three games, was held to two assists.

Wednesday's men's lacrosse game between Roanoke College and Guilford was postponed. No make-up date was announced. Also snowed out were two Roanoke College women's lacrosse games, Tuesday's scheduled game against Kenyon and today's game against Washington and Lee. The Kenyon game was canceled and the W&L game was moved to April 25.
