SNOW FORCES TOURNAMENT RESCHEDULING
Because of the weather, the 24th annual Knights of Columbus Basketball Tournament has been rescheduled for this weekend and March 27 and 28. Games will begin at 1:45 p.m. Saturday at the Roanoke Catholic High School gymnasium.
The Junior League schedule is: Vinton Hokies vs. Franklin County Dairy Queen, 1:45 p.m. Saturday; North Roanoke Celtics vs. Vinton 76ers, 6 p.m. Saturday; North Roanoke Vikings vs. Knights of Columbus Hawks, noon Sunday; and North Roanoke Cavaliers vs. Cave Spring Hawks, 4:45 p.m. Sunday.
The Little League schedule is: North Roanoke Lakers vs. Roanoke Catholic Celtics, 3 p.m. Saturday; North Roanoke Hornets vs. Burnt Chimney 76ers, 5 p.m. Saturday; Williamson Road Wahoos vs. North Roanoke Hawks, 7:15 p.m. Saturday; South Salem Maroons vs. Knights of Columbus Bucks, 9:15 p.m. Saturday; YMCA Lakers vs. Bedford 76ers, 1:15 p.m. Sunday; Glenvar Bulls vs. North Roanoke Tar Heels, 3:45 p.m. Sunday; Cave Spring Lions vs. Cloverdale Bulls, 6 p.m. Sunday; and Vinton Running Rebels vs. Southwest Cavaliers, 8:30 p.m. Sunday.
The Midget League schedule is: Cave Spring Supersonics vs. Bedford Warriors, 4 p.m. Saturday; South Salem Orange vs. North Roanoke Bullets, 8:15 p.m. Saturday; Vinton Cavaliers vs. North Roanoke Bulls, 2:15 p.m. Sunday; and North Roanoke Cavaliers vs. Cloverdale Bulls, 7:30 p.m. Sunday.
High school one-on-one first-round games will be held at 3:15 and 7 p.m. Sunday.
The tournament will continue March 27 and 28 with quarterfinals, semifinals, championships, the cheerleading contest and awards presentations.
