FOR THE RECORD
CorrectionA 102-year-old mistake was corrected by Eunice Hundley of Roanoke on Wednesday.
Her uncle, Eddy Linkenhoker, 17, died in the collapse of the roof of Roanoke Machine Shops' blacksmith shop after the great blizzard of Dec. 16, 1890. His name was misspelled in the Roanoke Times and the error was picked up by Raymond Barnes in his "A History of Roanoke."
The mistake continued in a story on the 1890 storm in Wednesday's editions.
