LANAGAN, George, 54, of Roanoke, died Wednesday morning, March 17, 1993, in
a local hospital. Mr. Lanagan was employed as a construction inspector for
HUD. He retired as a master sergeant with 21 years service in the U.S. Air
Force. Surviving are his wife, Patricia Freeman Lanagan; son, Michael Lanagan,
Roanoke; daughters and a son-in-law, Sheryl (Sherry) Lanagan, Roanoke, Lorenda
(Lori) Robertson, Tustin, Calif., Kathleen (Kathy) and Gunnery Sergeant Donald
Rutledge, Newport, N.C., Christina M. Lanagan, Roanoke; his mother, Mrs. Mary
Rose Lanagan, Stafford Springs, Conn.; grandchildren, Jeremy and Christopher
Rutledge; two brothers and three sisters of Connecticut. Services will be
10:30 a.m. Saturday at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel. The Rev. James Dirnard Smith
will officiate. Interment will be in Shady Grove Cemetery of Skygusty, W.Va.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday at the Oakey's
Roanoke Chapel.
