OBIT-HATCHER, RUTH C.

HATCHER, Ruth C. 77, of Roanoke, died Thursday, March 18, 1993, in a Salem hospital. She was the widow of Herbert C. Hatcher and was an active member of Central Church of the Brethren, where she served on the Board of Deacons. She was retired from the U.S. Forest Service. Surviving are one sister, Mrs. Catherine Barbour, Greensboro, N.C.; one brother, Ernest Clapp, Newton, N.C.; a special friend, Dean Duval Hicks, Roanoke; and three nephews. Funeral services will be conducted from Oakey's North Chapel, 1 p.m. Saturday by the Rev. David A. Yingling. Burial will be in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at Oakey's North Chapel after noon Friday.
