OBIT-HICKMAN, EITHEL MADISON

HICKMAN, Eithel Madison, 77, of Route 1, Bedford, died Thursday, March 18, 1993 in a Lynchburg Hospital. He was born in Rockbridge County on February 22, 1916, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Hickman. He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Belle Wilson Hickman. He is survived by four sons, Eithel O. Hickman, Chester Lee Hickman Sr., Thomas Hickman, all of Bedford, Marvin E. Hickman, Hampton, Ga.; two daughters, Shirley H. Markham, Big Island, Doris H. Denny, Reidsville, N.C.; one brother, Gordon S. Hickman, Lexington; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Carder-Tharp Funeral Home and Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Harrison Funeral Home in Lexington. A funeral service will be held Sunday, March 21, 1993 at 2 p.m. at the Harrison Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Floyd Gross officiating. Burial will follow in the Oxford Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Arrangements by Carder-Tharp Funeral Home, Bedford.
