EVEN YOUR DENTIST MAY BE A BIKER

SHAME ON Ed Shamy's Feb. 24 article on Johnny's Tavern ("A tavern dims over hue, cry"). It did nothing to enhance Scooch's, and he used it to slam motorcycles.

He said, "It would be a major challenge to remake the joint into a safe place for non-bikers to eat."

Before classifying all bikers into one group, just wait to think: The doctor working the emergency room, the policeman on patrol, the corporate executive on the top floor of the bank, your child's schoolteacher and, yes, even preachers are bikers.

Many different men and women ride bikes, so think before you open your mouth and speak ill of us. I am proud to be a biker and ride a Harley-Davidson.

I hope your dentist is a biker. BRIAN K. MILLER SALEM
