OBIT KIZER, SHULER A.
KIZER, Shuler A., 78, of Buena Vista, died Saturday, March 20, 1993, in the
University of Virginia Hospital, Charlottesville. He was born August 18, 1914,
in Lynchburg, a son of the late David H. and Lucille Bullock Kizer. Mr. Kizer
was a former mayor and Commonwealth's Attorney for the City of Buena Vista,
and had practiced Law for 55 years. He was a member of the St. John's United
Methodist Church. He was a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy, having served in World
War II. Surviving are his wife, Gladys Fitzgerald Kizer; a daughter, Kitty
Irvine, Buena Vista; a son, Barksdale Kizer, Nazareth, Pa.; two grandchildren,
David and Ann Irvine, both of Buena Vista; a sister, Mrs. James Rosenberger,
Lynchburg; and a brother, Charles W. Kizer, Richmond. Funeral services will be
conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday at the St. John's United Methodist Church with the
Rev. Robert Hawkins officiating. Interment will follow in Green Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Lomax Funeral Home on Monday from 7 to
8 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the St. John's United Methodist
Church.
