OBIT FISHER, WILLIAM C.
FISHER, William C., 88, of Eagle Rock, died Saturday, March 20, 1993, in
Alleghany Regional Hospital. He was born on June 17, 1904, in Botetourt
County, a son of the late James F. and May Hall Fisher. He was preceded in
death by his wife, Mildred Kern Fisher. He was a member of the Mt. Bethel
Church of the Brethren, and was a retired maintenance of way employee for the
C & O Railway. He was preceded in death by one sister and four brothers.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Nan F. Thurson of Hampton, Mrs. Joyce F.
Clark of Cloverdale; a daughter and son-in-law, Mildred F. ("Ginger") and
Harold Meadows, Iron Gate; one son and daughter-in-law, William J. and Hesta
Fisher, Conway, S.C.; eleven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, one
great-great-grandchild; and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services
will be conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 23, 1993, at Nicely Funeral Home
Chapel, Clifton Forge, with the Rev. Mark D. Abbey officiating. Interment will
follow in Alleghany Memorial Park, Low Moor. The family will receive friends
at Nicely Funeral Home from 7 until 8:30 Monday evening.
