GRIGGS, Sarah H., 69, of Roanoke, died Sunday, March 21, 1993. She was the
widow of Marshall C. Griggs. She was a member of Colonial Presbyterian Church,
where she served for many years as music director. Mrs. Griggs was retired
from Radio Communications Co., Inc. Surviving is a daughter and son-in-law,
Sally G. and Cecil D. McWilliams, Virginia Beach; a son and daughter-in-law,
Harvey M. and Dodie S. Griggs, Roanoke; a sister and brother-in-law, Anna H.
and Ray C. Steele Sr., Roanoke; a brother and sister-in-law, M. L. Jr. and
Doris Harvey, Fairmont, N.C.; grandchildren, Virginia E. McWilliams, Jaime N.
McWilliams, Katie D. Griggs, Matthew D. Glover, Jennifer H. Foster, Heather L.
Place; a devoted caregiver, Lee Morris. Services will be from Colonial
Presbyterian Church at 11 a.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Michael R. Nevling and the
Rev. H. Fleet Powell will officiate. Interment will follow in Fair View
Cemetery. Friends may call at Oakey's South Chapel at anytime on Tuesday,
where the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers,
memorials may be made to the American Lung Association or Colonial
Presbyterian Church Music Fund.
