RADFORD SOCCER STAR WASHINGTON HONORED

Radford University student and United States Olympian Dante Washington has been chosen to the Adidas Scholar Athlete Soccer All-America first team, selected by the Intercollegiate Soccer Association of America.

Washington, the Highlanders' all-time leading scorer, was one of 12 national first-team members. He finished his collegiate career last season with 13 goals and 11 assists, giving him Big South Conference career record totals of 82 goals and 66 assists.

Washington competed for the United States at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, Spain, and became Radford's first Division I first team All-American in 1991. He led the nation in scoring in 1988 and 1990.
