CCS DATA DESIGNS PAPER-FREE OFFICE
The valley's oldest computer store, CCS Data Station, has designed and built a paper-free office, a combined effort of Radford cardiologist Dr. J. Craig Barnett and CCS managing partner and senior engineer Larry S. Maccherone.Barnett's office does everything from patient notes and dictation to general record keeping and office memos by computer. His system includes networked personal computers, customized software and Write Once Read Only Memory hardware for patient-related information that can be added to, but not changed or deleted. In case of a power outage, Maccherone integrated a battery backup that keeps the computers running awhile before shutting them off with files intact.
