LANDSCAPE PHOTO EXHIBIT SCHEDULED

A Smithsonian Institution exhibit of contemporary American landscape photography will open Friday in the main William King Regional Arts Center gallery as part of a national tour.

Rep. Rick Boucher, D-Abingdon, who was instrumental in bringing the National Museum of Art exhibit to Abingdon, will attend an exhibit reception from 6 to 8 p.m. at the opening. The exhibit will remain through May 14.

Titled "Between Home and Heaven," it is made up of work by photographers from across the country. It was put together from the Consolidated National Gas Co. Collection at the Smithsonian and made possible by the CNG Foundation.

The foundation has supported acquisition of contemporary landscape photography at the National Museum since 1987. It was selected from more than 300 photographs from 50 photographers.

There is no charge for admission.
