ROANOKE MAN DIES IN GOODVIEW CRASH

A Roanoke man was killed Tuesday night when his pickup truck ran off the side of a Bedford County road and struck a tree, a state police dispatcher said.

Robert Lewis Bonds, 45, was dead at the scene of the accident on Virginia 709 near Goodview, the dispatcher said. Bonds was not wearing a seat belt.

Bonds apparently drove his truck off the left side of the road and struck a mailbox and a tree. No other vehicles were involved in the 9 p.m. accident.
