OBIT WALKER, LUCYE GRAVELY
WALKER, Lucye Gravely, 84, of Roanoke, died Tuesday, March 23, 1993 in a
local hospital. She was the daughter of the late Peter Franklin and Emma
Bright Walker. She was co-founder of the Roanoke Little Theatre in the early
1930's. In 1935 she played at the World Famous Barter Theatre in Abingdon, Va.
She appeared on NBC and ABC in New York City during the golden years of radio.
Ms. Walker also taught drama in Roanoke and New York City. She was a published
poet. Surviving are a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be
private. Family suggests memorial contributions be made to your favorite
charity. Arrangements by Oakey's Roanoke Chapel.
