RVC PITCHER HURLS NO-HITTER IN 21-3 WIN
Nathan Hicks tossed a no-hitter and Roanoke Valley Christian stole 17 bases in a 21-3 baseball romp Carlisle at Martinsville. Five RVC errors and nine walks allowed by Hicks led to the Carlisle runs. Hicks was 3-for-4 at the place with five stolen bases, while Richard Booth was 2-for-2 with four stolen bases. RVC is 1-0; Carlisle 0-3.At Riner, Bradley Hudgins homered and drove in two runs as Auburn downed Floyd 8-4 in a Mountain Empire District baskeball game. Shawn Weeks and Andy Johnson also had two RBI each for the Eagles and Todd Collins pitched the five-inning complete game, striking out three.
Brian Sinclair scored three goals as Cave Spring edged Patrick Henry 4-3 in boys' lacrosse.
Roanoke Valley Christian's golf team beat Lynchburg Christian 163-188 in a nine-hole match at Countryside. Benji Kitts of RVC was the medalist at 1-over-par 37.
