OBIT-MITCHELL, FREDERICK BURTON JR.

MITCHELL, Frederick Burton Jr., 77, of 600 Prospect Avenue, Pulaski, died Tuesday, March 16, 1993, at his home. He was born in Bluefield, W.Va. on November 8, 1915, and was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Burton Mitchell Sr. He was a retired employee of the G. O. System Transmission Department of Appalachian Power Company, having 47 1/2 years of service. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Pulaski. Surviving are his wife, Polly Gatewood Mitchell, Pulaski; daughter, Susan G. Mitchell, Blacksburg. A graveside service will be held Saturday, March 27, 1993, at 2 p.m. from the Monte Vista Cemetery, Bluefield, W.Va with the Rev. Jack Weikel officiating. The family will receive friends after the service at the cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family wishes that memorials be made to the New River Valley Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 1994, Pulaski, Va. 24301, or to the charity of one's choice. Arrangements by Stevens Funeral Home, Pulaski.
