OBIT-MASON, MINNIE ETHEL

MASON, Minnie Ethel, 87, of the Fork Mountain, died Wednesday, March 24, 1993 in Franklin Memorial Hospital. She was born December 30, 1905 and was preceded in death by her husband, Merrill C. Mason Sr. She was a charter member of the Oak Level Baptist Church. Surviving are three sons and daughters-in-law, M. C. and Claudia Mason Jr., Rocky Mount, James Edward and Stella Mason, Route 3, Bassett, Clarence Henry and Carol Mason, Route 3, Martinsville; two sisters, Mary B. Brown and Vestie Goode, Route 3, Bassett. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, three stepgrandchildren; seven stepgreat-grandchildren, and five stepgreat-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday from the Oak Level Baptist Church by the Revs.' Randell Blackman and David Speering with interment to follow in the family cemetery. Visitation will begin 2 p.m. Friday at Oak Level Baptist Church where the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Fork Mountain Rescue Squad, Route 3, Bassett, Va. Lynch Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
