DESIGN ENTRIES TO BE DISPLAYED

A selection of entries from the national design competition for Blacksburg's civic activities center will be on display Monday through April 4 at Virginia Tech's College of Architecture and Urban Studies in Cowgill Hall.

Entries that were awarded prizes in January are in the exhibit. The Boston design team of Shannon Taylor Scarlett and Timothy Scarlett won first place in the open category and received a $10,000 prize. First place in the restricted category, limited to individuals and teams from Virginia Tech's College of Architecture and Urban Studies, went to graduate student Joann Im. She received $3,000.
