CALHOUN-FIFER

Sammie Rae Fifer and Gregory Alvin Calhoun were united in marriage March 27, 1993. The candlelight ceremony was held at Quaker Baptist Church, with Rev. Kenneth Howell officiating. A reception was held following the ceremony in the church fellowship hall.

Matron of honor was Kimberly Byrd and best man was Jack Arrington, both are close friends of the couple. Flowergirl was Jessica Hise, niece of the bride.Ushers were Wayne Fifer, brother of the bride and Jeremiah Calhoun, brother of the groom. Casie McCoy attended the guestbook.

The bride, escorted by her father, wore a white satin gown, beaded with pearls and carried a cascade bouquet of pink roses and baby's breath.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse W. Fifer, Sr. of Goodview. She is a graduate of Staunton River High School and attends Central VirginiaCommunity College in Lynchburg. She is a member of the Moneta Rescue Squad and Moneta Fire Department. She isemployed by Fifer-Collins Inc., Roanoke.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John A. Calhoun of Moneta. He is agraduate of Staunton River High School and Central Virginia Community College with an Associate Degree in appliedScience. He also is a member of theMoneta Rescue Squad and Moneta Fire Department. He is employed by Body Camp Store and Peoples TelephoneCompany.

Following a wedding trip the couple will reside in Moneta.
