The bride was attended by her sister, Harriet Bridget Leavens of Long Beach, California; the groom by his friend, Jim VanMeer of Springfield, Virginia. Ushers were Roger Hedgbeth, Jr., brother of the bride; John Leavens, brother-in-law; Walt Auvil of Parkersburg, West Virginia, and Henry Johnson of Beaverdam, Virginia, cousins of the bride.
The bride's parents are Linnae and Roger Hedgbeth, Sr., of Salem. Mable Reed of Claremore, Oklahoma, and the late Richard Reed are parents of the groom.
Llewellyn fashioned her dress with a sweetheart neckline and leg-of-mutton sleeves from soft creamy patterned damask and a family friend, GinnyGarver, hemmed it. Bridget brought the bride's headgear from California. The bride carried a spray of white gardenias and stephanotis.
The 4:00 o'clock ceremony was followed by a reception, on campus, in the Green Drawing Room. A 6:30 dinner, for all guests, was held at Taylor Masonic Lodge in Salem.
Llewellyn is a graduate of Hollins College, New York University Graduate School, and Washington and Lee University Law School. Satch is a type-setter of fine printing and is studing through Penn State University.
After a honeymoon in Amsterdam, Holland, the couple is living in Hamburg, Germany, where Llewellyn is a administrator for the Foreign Service of the U.S. Department of State.
