LACROSSE-W&L ROMPS OVER COLORADO 13-3

Scott Mackley, Dave Schiminger, Ty Tydings and David Lefkowitz each scored two goals as Washington and Lee rolled past Colorado College 13-3 in a non-conference match at Glen Maury Park in Buena Vista.

Ted Nusbaum opened the scoring for Colorado with a goal in the first quarter. The Generals (4-1), ranked 10th in Division III, responded with eight consecutive goals, and held Colorado (2-5) scoreless from the 9:56 mark of the first quarter to the 6:06 mark of the third quarter when Max Calkins scored.

Jason Smith scored six goals and Stewart Walker added four as Maryland-Baltimore County (4-2) rolled past VMI 19-5 in Baltimore, Md.

Mike Peters led the Keydets (3-3) with two goals. Spencer Gill, Chris Feltman and Kyle Graham each scored one goal.

Terry Riordan led all scorers with four goals as Johns Hopkins defeated Virginia 11-9 in the rain at Homewood Field in Baltimore.

The Cavaliers trailed 8-6 at halftime, and Johns Hopkins (4-1) stretched its lead to 11-6 before Virginia closed to 11-9 with three minutes left.

Kevin Pehlke led the Cavaliers (4-2) with two goals and three assists.
