OBIT SLUSHER, MARY VERNON
SLUSHER, Mary Vernon, 84, of Blacksburg, died Wednesday, March 24, 1993, at
Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Miss Slusher was a graduate of V.P.I. & S.U. and
was a former certified public accountant. She was a retired professor of the
business administration at the University of Akron, Akron, Ohio. She was also
a charter member of St. Marys Catholic Church in Blacksburg. Surviving are a
sister, Clarice S. Pitchard, Blacksburg; one niece, Virginia S. Farmer,
Roanoke; one cousin, Marilyn S. Arbogast, Roanoke; several other relatives.
Funeral services will be held Monday, March 29, at 11 a.m. at St. Marys
Catholic Church. The Rev. Donald L. Lemay will officiate. Interment will
follow in Westview Cemetery. A fellowship lunch will be served at the church
after the services. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to
St. Marys Catholic Church Building Fund, 706 Harding Avenue, Blacksburg, Va.
24060. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. at McCoy
Funeral home, a prayer service will follow at 4 p.m.
