OBIT HESTER, ALEEN FIELDER
HESTER, Aleen Fielder, (Mrs.), 87, of Galax, formerly of Fries, passed away
Friday in the Waddell Nursing Home. She was the widow of Wilmer H. Hester.
Mrs. Hester is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Sara and Joe Lindsey of
Galax; two sons and daughters-in-law, Dick and Betty Hester, Richmond and
George and Lucy Hester of Fries; three sisters, Sybil Rector, Burlington, N.
C., Rose Phipps, Charlotte, N. C. and Betty Cummings of Littleton, Colo;
special mother-in-law, Myrtle Hester of Fries; ten grandchildren and fourteen
great-grandchildren. The funeral service will be Monday at 11 a.m. at the
Fries United Methodist Church with burial in the Fries Cemetery. The family
will receive friends Sunday evening from 7 to 9 at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral
Home in Galax. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made
to the Fries United Methodist Church.
