BUCS END EXHIBITION GAME IN TIE

Tim Marks was 2-for-3 with a double and two RBI as the Salem Buccaneers tied the Fort Myers Twins 4-4 on Sunday in a minor-league baseball exhibition game.

Designated hitter Tim Bonifay tripled in a run and shortstop Tony Womack had an RBI single for the Bucs (2-4-2). Outfielder Jeff Conger was 3-for-5.

Gary Wilson pitched five innings for Salem, giving up one run on four hits while striking out three. Mike Tiech, Jim Martin and Sean Evans each pitched one inning. Tiech gave up no hits; Martin gave up one run on two hits; and Evans gave up two runs on one hit while striking out one.

Each team had 11 hits and one error. The Bucs left four on base; the Twins, a Minnesota farm team, left three.
