OBIT MARTIN, DOROTHY EVANS
MARTIN, Dorothy Evans, 71, of Narrows, died Saturday, March 27, 1993. Mrs.
Martin was born in Giles County on April 27, 1921, a daughter of the late
Henry and Mona Taylor Evans. She was preceded in death by four brothers,
Harold, Bill, Sonny and Julian; and two sisters, Ruby and Sarah. She was the
widow of William Deward Martin. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law,
Billy and Bobby Martin, Narrows; a daughter and son-in-law, Heida and James
Johnston of Narrows; two brothers, David Evans of Pembroke, Robert Evans of
Richmond; three sisters, Josephine Evans of Pearisburg, Betty Walker of
Eggleston, Marge Gilmore of Lynchburg; and four grandchildren, Christi and
Cheri Martin, April and Michael Johnston, all of Narrows. Funeral services
will be conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Givens Funeral Chapel, Pearisburg,
with the Rev. David Lawson officiating. Burial will follow in Birchlawn Burial
Park. The family will receive friends at the Givens Funeral Home from 6 until
9 p.m. Monday.
