Snow, flooding, school closings, scheduling conflicts, a hectic schedule of competitions and an invitational performance forced audition dates for the C.S. Lewis story to be postponed three times.
The show had been scheduled for May 6, and director Rhonda Welsh decided to do it next spring instead.
"There just weren't enough hours between now and the show date to justify a full production," she said, although the students were "ready and willing" to try.
But students are preparing spring studio works in which acting class members prepare short scenes as a class exercise. These will be performed free of charge for the public May 6, from 3:30 to 5 p.m. at the school.
The Players also will assist the choir and band in upcoming concerts May 11 and 13 at the school. Senior theater students will perform at the May 18 awards banquet.
