OBIT SMITH, KATHLEEN HOGAN

SMITH, Kathleen Hogan, 85, of 818 Greenwood Street, Bedford, died Tuesday, March 30, 1993, in Bedford County Memorial Hospital. She was born in Campbell County on May 26, 1907, a daughter of the late Samuel Obediah Hogan and Effie Gilmore Wood Hogan. She was a retired employee of Hampton Looms of Virginia, and was a member of Bedford Christian Church. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Ellen S. and Billy C. Burnette, Bedford; a brother, James A. "Bud" Hogan, Bedford; a granddaughter, Penny B. Shipp, Chesterfield; a grandson, Kevin L. Burnette, Marion, Ohio; four great-grandchildren, Jeffery Adam Cox, Chelsea Burnette, Zachary Burnette, and Andrew Tyler Shipp; also three nephews and five nieces. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, April 1, 1993, at 2 p.m. at the Carder-Tharp Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Kenneth E. Burger officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Carder-Tharp Funeral Home, Bedford.
